Immigrating to Ivory Coast

Immigrating to Ivory Coast
To be able to enter the Ivory Coast, whether for the purpose of travel, study, business, work or relocation, you would need a passport. This is aside from a visa that may also be required depending on where you are from and on the purpose of your stay in the country. However, your passport should have a validity of at least 6 months otherwise you would have to have this renewed.

However, if you are a US citizen, you do not need a visa to be able to get into the Ivory Coast, unless you plan to stay here for more than 90 days. All you need is a valid passport. But, if the purpose of your visit is other than tourism or business activities like immigration, work, study or adoption, then you should get the appropriate visa for your stay by contacting the nearest embassy or consulate directly.

All foreign nationals who are living in the Ivory Coast must have a document that allows their residence in the country. All French nationals whose visits in the Ivory Coast exceed the period of three months should have a resident's card. If you are a foreign national who has gained employment in the country, then you can also get a residence permit here. You would need to present your approved work contract for this, on top of all the other requirements needed for the application. If you are a foreigner who has lived in the Ivory Coast for more than two years, then you are already eligible for permanent residency in the country as well, this is especially if you have a business establishment here.
