Australia and New Zealand offer hundreds of jobs for skilled electricians
Its director Paul Arthur, points out that not only are there more jobs on offer, but salaries are higher, the weather is great and the lifestyle is much more enjoyable. Australia has the largest expat British community in the world, at present standing at around 1.2 million and there’s plenty of room for more.
Both Australia and New Zealand are still the most popular destinations for disaffected Brits looking for a change of style as well as a change of job. According to Arthur, the biggest draw for British would-be migrants is the increased career-enhancing opportunities, with the sheer quality of life down under another huge motivator.
The Economist Intelligence Unit’s recent report named Melbourne the city to head for, awarding it the coveted ‘most liveable city in the world’ crown. The survey investigated the crime rate, the city’s infrastructure, housing and cost of living as well as its job scene, and laid-back Adelaide, buzzing Sydney and Auckland in New Zealand also made it into the top ten.
Qualified electricians feature strongly in Australian immigration’s skills listings, and New Zealand has now joined the hunt, with both countries happy to offer long-stay visas to those with the right experience.
