Paris international schools awaiting mass enrolments due to Brexit relocations
Banks including Goldman Sachs, numerous other financial firms, some government organisations and a string of multinationals are expected to make the move to Paris before Brexit becomes a reality. According to French calculations, some 10,000 jobs will relocate to the French capital as part of a massive ‘Brexodus’ of high-salaried top talent. It’s also expected that many will arrive ‘en famille’ and require the best as regards schooling for their children.
The International School of Paris, nestled in the shadow of the iconic Eiffel Tower, is one educational organisation that’s got its eye firmly on providing an upscale education for children with upscale parents in top new jobs in the city. The school has already been inundated with requests from concerned parents as well as from London-based companies checking out facilities for their top professionals and their families. According to a representative of the school, there have already been meetings with banks who’ve indicated they’ll be arriving in Paris in time for the 2019/2020 school year.
In what could be called a ‘lucky coincidence’ a new campus is about ready to open, anchored by a 100-year old neo-Gothic mansion as well as two further buildings adding some 3,000m2 to the existing campus and providing room for 350 more students. Facilities are expected to be state of the art, especially in the tech sector, with extras including interactive touchscreens and ergonomic furniture. Even so, the school is facing strong competition from the city’s other established international schools, although one of its major advantages is the care taken with parents and children in order to ensure a soft landing during the transition process.
