IT expat professionals choosing Prague for their next move
One of the planet’s largest software companies is now looking to a vast expansion of over 500 new jobs. Established in its new Prague headquarters, world leader in backup solutions Veeam is about to expand its software development workforce from 150 to 650 over the next five years, and is looking for developers fluent in Czech, Russian and English. The company chose its Prague location for its ease of access, safety and security and the high level of education in the city’s universities. The city’s position in one of the world’s most peaceful states was another major attraction.
Founded by Russian tech entrepreneurs ten years ago, Veeam now has over 3,500 employees based in some 30 countries worldwide. The company specialises in the development of back-up, data management and disaster recovery software, thus protecting its millions of users worldwide. One favourite product for businesses is their Microsoft Office 365 backup software, now in use by 550 companies and over seven million users.
Successful expat applicants for jobs at Veeam can expect good salaries, healthcare subscriptions, language courses, reimbursement of travel expenses, meal vouchers, gym memberships, a cycling club and more, ensuring an easy transition from their home countries to the company’s new Prague headquarters. The Czech Republic’s ancient capital city is a mix of Renaissance, Baroque and Gothic architecture, and is itself a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its temperate climate making adjustment easy for the majority of expats.
